We are looking for a candidate to fill the position of Stores Officer
Interested candidates should be able;
Responsible for efficiently managing the hospital’s inventory of medical and non-medical supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital by receiving, storing and distributing supplies and assets to various departments.
Key Result Areas
The post holder is required to:-
• Procurement planning on a monthly for the stock needed.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries of both medical & non-medical supplies and assets.
• Timely receipt of invoices in the system and submission to the payments team
• Carry out weekly stock checks to ensure accurate stock levels both in the system and physically
• Ensure proper storage of all the items keeping them off the floor, well labeled and organized for easy visibility.
• Issue items to user departments in a timely and efficient manner
• Carry out stock counts, checks and audits as required.
• Monitor the timely and accurate delivery of supplies to meet departmental needs
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory.
• Report any discrepancies or damages to received items.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external vendors and hospital staff.
• Follow all hospital safety guidelines and infection control protocols
• Generate regular reports on inventory status, consumption trends and budget adherence.
• Work closely with other hospital departments, including finance, nursing and administration to understand their needs and provide support.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements in materials management.
Competencies/Abilities:
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of inventory management and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of healthcare regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of use of Excel tool
Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Three year’s working experience in a busy environment, preferably in healthcare
• Proven experience in supplies management or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting
