We are looking for a candidate to fill the position of Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor (01)
Interested candidates will be;
Responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hospital meet or exceed cleanliness standards, contributing to the overall well-being of patients and staff
Key Result Areas
The post holder is required to:-
• Assist in the supervision and coordination of daily housekeeping operations
• Train, mentor, and supervise housekeeping staff, ensuring they adhere to hospital policies and procedures
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Monitor and maintain high cleanliness standards in patient rooms, waiting areas, offices, and other hospital spaces
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address cleanliness issues promptly
• Collaborate with the Housekeeping Supervisor to implement quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in managing housekeeping supplies and equipment to ensure an adequate stock level
• Collaborate with the procurement team to order cleaning supplies as needed
• Keep track of equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs
• Work closely with the infection control team to implement and enforce infection prevention protocols
• Ensure that all cleaning procedures meet hospital infection control guidelines
• Respond promptly to any infectious outbreaks by implementing additional cleaning measures
• Foster effective communication between housekeeping staff, other hospital departments, and external vendors
• Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to address specific cleaning requirements for patient care areas
• Attend regular meetings with the housekeeping team to discuss ongoing projects and address concerns
• Develop and implement emergency response plans related to housekeeping services
• Assist in budget management, including monitoring expenditures related to housekeeping supplies and staffing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising cleanliness and safety standards
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Competencies/Abilities:
• Knowledge of hospital cleaning protocols, infection control practices, and safety regulations
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience
• A Diploma in Hotel Management and Institutional Catering or Hospitality Management
• 02 Years Supervisory experience in a 5 Star Hotel environment
